ABOUT THE SPAR LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME 2026
The SPAR Learnership Programme is a structured 12-month training opportunity designed to combine theoretical learning with practical workplace experience. Learners will be placed within SPAR’s distribution and operational environments, where they will receive hands-on exposure to real working conditions while completing a formal qualification.
The 2026 intake will focus primarily on distribution centre operations, transport management, and supply chain functions.
AVAILABLE LEARNERSHIP STREAMS
SPAR is offering two primary learnership programmes for 2026:
1️⃣ National Certificate: Transport Operations (NQF Level 5)
This programme is designed for individuals interested in building a career within the transport and logistics industry.

Learners will gain exposure to the daily operations of a large-scale distribution centre and transport environment.

This qualification focuses on the end-to-end supply chain process within retail distribution.

LOCATION
The 2026 learnership intake will primarily be hosted at SPAR’s Distribution Centre operations (varies by region depending on intake requirements). Applicants should be willing to work in a warehouse or distribution environment.

Learners must be available for the entire duration of the programme.
STIPEND
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the learnership to assist with travel and basic living expenses. The stipend amount is market-related and aligned with learnership guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the SPAR Learnership 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
✔ Must be a South African citizen
✔ Must have completed Grade 12 (Matric)
✔ Must be between the ages of 18 and 34
✔ Must be currently unemployed
✔ Must not be studying full-time during the learnership
✔ Must be willing to work shifts if required
✔ Must have good communication skills
✔ Must be committed to completing the full 12-month programme
No prior work experience is required. This opportunity is ideal for school leavers and first-time job seekers.
