What the Learnership Is

The 2026–2027 Unemployed Learnership Programme is a structured 12-month training and workplace development programme offered by Value Group. It leads to an Occupational Certificate in Supply Chain Practitioner (NQF Level 5) — a nationally recognised qualification in the logistics and supply chain sector.

The programme combines:

  • Accredited classroom-based training

  • Practical workplace experience

  • Real on-the-job exposure in operational logistics environments

  • Assessments, including a final EISA examination

  • A monthly stipend to assist with travel and participation costs

📅 2 March 2026 – 28 February 2027 (12 months)
📍 Location: Gauteng (and other regions depending on listings)

Purpose of the Learnership

This programme is aimed at helping unemployed South African youth gain:

  • A formal occupation-specific qualification

  • Hands-on work experience in logistics and supply chain

  • Industry-relevant skills to improve employability after completion

It’s especially suited for people who want a pathway into warehousing, distribution, inventory control, transport logistics and related operational roles.

 Who Can Apply (Eligibility Criteria)

To qualify for the 2026–2027 Unemployed Learnership Programme, you must meet all of the following:

 Basic Requirements

  • 🇿🇦 Must be a South African citizen

  • 📅 Unemployed at the time of application

  • 📘 Matric certificate (Grade 12) with at least a 50 % pass rate

  • 🎯 Age: 21 – 29 years old

  • 📍 Willing to commit fully to the 12-month programme

  • 🧭 Available to attend both classroom and workplace training sessions

📌 No prior work experience is required. The learnership is designed to build skills from the ground up.

 What You Will Do During the Programme

Participants go through a mix of classroom and workplace experiences:

 Classroom Training

  • Held roughly one week per month

  • Covers both theory and practical aspects of supply chain operations

  • Helps build competencies required for operational roles

 Practical Workplace Experience

  • You’ll work in a real logistics environment

  • Apply what you’ve learned with hands-on duties

  • Typical work schedule is Mon–Fri, 07:00 – 17:00 (overtime may be required)

 Assessments

  • Participants must complete evaluations throughout the year

  • Final EISA exam at the end to qualify for the certificate

 Monthly Stipend

Learners receive a monthly stipend to support travel and participation — the amount varies but helps cover essential costs.
