ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME
The Production Technology Learnership (NQF Level 2) is a 12-month structured programme that focuses on developing core production and technical skills required in a manufacturing plant. Learners will be trained in all aspects of match manufacturing, including production processes, safety standards, quality control, and basic technical operations.
The primary goal of the learnership is to develop a pool of skilled and work-ready talent that can be considered for various technical and production-related positions within the Lion Match Products plant upon successful completion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Learners participating in the programme will receive comprehensive training and exposure, which may include:

Understanding the match manufacturing process from raw material to finished product

Assisting in production line operations under supervision

Learning and applying workplace health and safety standards

Operating basic machinery and production equipment (training provided)

Participating in quality control and inspection processes

Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in production areas

Following standard operating procedures and production guidelines

Working as part of a production team to meet daily targets

Completing theoretical modules aligned with the NQF Level 2 qualification
Learners will be supported by supervisors and mentors throughout the duration of the programme.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
To be considered for this learnership, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate with Mathematics

Be between the ages of 18 and 30 years
-
Must be a South African citizen
-
Must be unemployed
-
Must not have a completed tertiary qualification
-
Must not have previously participated in any learnership or internship

Must reside locally or be able to travel to Rosslyn
Added Advantage

Technical background such as N3, N4, N5, or N6 will be an advantage
-
Interest in manufacturing, engineering, or technical environments
